Ahead of the release, megastar Amitabh Bachchan shared a throwback picture with grandson Agastya Nanda and son Abhishek Bachchan. “T 4852 – .. how you became from this to this .. Agastya my love and my blessings as ever …” he wrote.
Archies, the Bollywood adaptation of the iconic comics also stars Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja and Aditi Dot. The movie is directed by Zoya Akhtar, who has in the last few months fielded questions and comments on nepotism as the movie marks the debut of three star kids– Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor and Suhana Khan.
Agastya is the third generation actor from the Bachchan family. On Tuesday, Amitabh Bachchan, along with his family, appeared on the red carpet for the film’s premiere held at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) to support Agastya, senior Bachchan’s first public appearance in years. “.. such a delight meeting them all after years and to hear their talk and see how change has affected them .. for it has been my very first public appearance after years of self-imposed and medical confinement ..” he wrote on his personal blog.
On Wednesday, Abhishek Bachchan, Agastya’s maternal uncle took to Instagram and wrote, “All you have to do is reach out and I’ll be there to hold your hand. Welcome to the movies my dearest Agastya!”
The lyrics for the movie were penned by Javed Akhtar. The movie is set in the 60s and revolves around the lives of teens from an Ango-Indian community residing in a fictional hill station.
