Birthday special: Deepika Padukone’s upcoming movies

Its actor Deepika Padukone’s birthday! The star, who has charmed us with her dimpled smile, has entertained us with movies like Om Shanti Om, Bajirao Mastani and Piku. Here are some upcoming movies of the actor to look forward to.

Kalki 2898 AD: Kalki is a forthcoming Indian Epic, dystopian film directed by Nag Ashwin, with a budget of Rs. 600 crores, making it the most expensive film ever made in India. Deepika plays the female lead opposite Prabhas and has said she is “beyond thrilled” to be a part of the project. 

The film was announced in February 2020 under the working title Project K, but production was forced to be postponed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. Filming began in July 2021 and it was shot in both Telugu and Hindi. The film will be released on January 12, 2024.

Fighter: Fighter is a Hindi action movie directed by Siddharth Anand. The film is India’s first action film focussing on the Air Force. It was officially announced on 10 January 2021. The film will be released on 25 January 2024. 

Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan were officially announced as the main leads making it their second move together. Later Anil Kapoor joined the cast. Both Padukone and Roshan took martial arts training for their roles. 

The Intern: The Intern is the Indian remake of the film The Intern, which starred Anne Hathaway and Robert DeNiro. This version stars Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. It was announced in 2021. 

Although the release date of the film hasn’t been revealed yet, Deepika shared, in an interview had said, “’The Intern’ is an intimate, relationship-driven film, set in and around the workplace; a story that I believe is very relevant to the present day social and cultural environment. I have been looking for a light, breezy comedy-drama and this story fits in seamlessly. I cannot wait to begin this journey.”
