Actor Kartik Aaryan and producer-director Karan Johar seem to have buried the hatchet, as Johar, on Wednesday, announced a movie with the actor. In 2021, rumours of Aaryan’s “unprofessional” behaviour upsetting Karan Johar surfaced and later it was said that Aaryan was no longer a part of Dostana 2. Dostana 2 was announced in 2019 and was purported to star Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshyaa.
Aaryan, who has worked in movies like Shehzada, Satyaprem Ki Katha and Bhool Bhulaiyyaa, turns 33 today.
Sharing an image on Instagram, Johar wrote, “Kickstarting today with some special news on a special day! Extremely thrilled to announce @dharmamovies and @balajimotionpictures coming together for a film helmed by the exceptionally talented @sandeipm. I find myself elated to also announce the supremely talented @kartikaaryan as our lead for this story that will unfold in cinemas on 15th August 2025! Kartik, happy birthday to you… may our collaboration only grow from strength to strength from hereon and never cease to create magic on the big screen. @ektarkapoor, being your friend is easily the best thing and now working with you will be no different!”
Actor Kartik Aaryan also took to Instagram to announce the film. He wrote, “An unforgettable chapter of our glorious Indian history full of valour and sacrifice is now going to be part of my life.” Aaryan had also shared an image of him with a cake and wrote, “Grateful for all the love.” Celebrities like Manish Malhotra, Vikram Massey, Manisha Koirala and Tiger Shroff commented on the post, wishing him a happy birthday.
Aaryan will next be seen in Chandu Champion helmed by Kabir Khan, who has made movies like Ek Tha Tiger, New York and Tubelight. Based on the extraordinary real-life story of a sportsperson, the movie also stars Shraddha Kapoor and Katrina Kaif.
