These are the 10 most-watched Netflix shows in the first half of 2023

Streaming giant Netflix has published its first-ever viewing report that reveals the names of the most-watched shows in the first half of 2023. The report that covers more than 18,000 titles and close to 100,000 watch hours gives insights about audience behaviour across the world.

The disclosure by the streaming platform comes after the months-long battle between Hollywood’s actors and writers unions and production houses. Here is a quick breakdown of the top 10 most-watched shows from January to June 2023, according to Netflix’s ‘What We Watched Report’.

#1: The Night Agent season 1

#2: Ginny & Georgia season 2

#3: The Glory season 1

#4: Wednesday season 1

#5: Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

#6: You season 4

#7: La Reina del Sur season 3

#8: Outer Banks season 3

#9: Ginny & Georgia season 1

#10: FUBAR season 1

The first season of The Night Agent registered over 800 million watch hours. The report features shows and movies viewed only in the first half of the year, and hence does not include popular releases like Squid Game: The Challenge that arrived in the second half. Shows like Beef which received rave reviews from both critics and the audience surprisingly do not feature among the top 10.

While multiple seasons of several shows feature on the list, the report also reveals that the audience have indulged not just in new shows, in popular earlier releases like Breaking Bad, Money Heist and Ozark.

Indian titles in the report include Rana Naidu, Indian Matchmaking season 3 and Mission Majnu.
